The League was formed in 1968 with just two
sections – Under
11 and Under 14.
In the beginning there were only 26 teams in membership, but in the intervening
years the League has grown tenfold, with around 60 member Clubs and over 250
teams. Under the Chairmanship of one of the original team, Ray Bellamy, together
with a hardworking and enthusiastic Committee, the League has become what we
believe is one of the best run Leagues in the Midlands.
With teams ranging in age from Under 7 to Under 18, some 2500-3000 players can be found out on pitches every Sunday during the season. Several past players have gone on to professional careers in football, or have become managers of teams now in the League.
